Barcelona has a new museum, and it’s one you won’t find in just any city. Europe’s first museum of rock star guitars has opened, the Guitar Legends Hall, a space that seeks to explain the history of rock through a collection of more than 50 electric guitars that were played by legends such as Kiss, Metallica and Aerosmith.

Located in the well-known Portaferrisa street (specifically at number 16), Guitar Legends Hall aims to recover the rock spirit that used to permeate the streets of La Rambla and Tallers, and which tourism has caused to disappear over the years. The collector Juan José Castellano has promoted this particular museum, unique in Europe, which has more than 1,500 m2 divided into 8 rooms.

Guitar Legends Hall was created with the mission of ‘explaining the history of rock through the evolution of the electric guitar’, according to Castellanos. Throughout the tour, visitors will be able to find guitars used by illustrious musicians and limited editions that have left their mark on the history of music.

During the visit, rock fans can explore several thematic areas: a temporary exhibition on the electrification of the guitar; a permanent exhibition looking at rock’s arrival on television; a space dedicated to the iconic Woodstock festival, with guitars from musicians such as Jimi Hendrix, Carlos Santana and Neal Schon; and a room exploring the impact of MTV on music.

Discover Europe’s first guitar museum with Clorian

Clorian will manage ticket sales for Guitar Legends Hall, both physically and online. The visit will take place in 10-minute slots, to ensure that all visitors can enjoy the experience in the best possible way, especially at the end of the visit when they will live an immersive experience that simulates a concert.

At the moment, Guitar Legends Hall has an audio-guided tour lasting approximately one hour, with two types of sales: a general tour and a discounted tour for groups of between 10 and 25 people. In the coming days, it will also be possible for distributors and agencies to purchase tickets through Clorian’s sellers platform.

The opening hours of Guitar Legends Hall are Monday to Sunday from 11:00h to 21:00h, with the last access at 20:00h.
