Pablo Picasso is, without a doubt, one of the most important artists in the history of our country and a pillar of 20th century art worldwide. His art spans different styles, from cubism to surrealism, and each work is a testimony to his unique vision.

It is estimated that Picasso was the author of some 13,500 paintings and designs, 100,000 prints or engravings, 34,000 book illustrations and 300 sculptures or ceramics, as well as having the largest number of museums named after him. One of the most important is the one located in Malaga, as it makes his wish to have a museum in his hometown where he could exhibit his works come true.

The Museo Picasso Málaga

Museo Picasso Málaga, is located in the historic heart of the city, very close to the Cathedral and the Roman Theatre. Its facilities are located in the Buenavista Palace, an outstanding building that represents the Renaissance civil architecture of Andalusia.

Its collection, devoted almost entirely to Pablo Picasso, has more than 230 works including paintings, sculptures, drawings, graphic works and ceramics in which the evolution of Picasso’s art can be observed.
